 G6 (Both Forward + Defence)

  • G6  designed for access and avoid at BTA
     — particularly during stoppages, including second stoppages at centre bounces

  • Emphasis on fast hands (release):

    • Forward G6F → forward release

    • Defensive G6D → backward feed

  • Creates a 5v6 scenario at both ends of the ground (FWD & DEF)

  • Key focus: roll up both ends — forward and defence

    • Utilise the spare opposition player created when one of our players engages at the stoppage

    • Creates 8v6 scenario at the contest

  • Both G6 players (FWD and DEF) act as:

    • Exit options

This leaves the oppo's deepest defender and forward spare at both ends of the ground

Drills

  • Scenario play-out in mids/BTA area

  • Focus on:

    • Release / Outlet / Overlap principles for outcome scenarios

  • Can extend the drill to include forward entries
